Who Would You Rather?

Article 027.

Today is the 29th of February. So in honor of those who were born on a leap year on this exact day, not knowing whether to celebrate a day back or forward the next 3 years, we're playing a game of indecision.

When Tina Fey and Amy Poehler hosted the 2015 Golden Globes, part of their monologue included a game of "Who Would You Rather?". They pick out two actors and decide which one of them they would "rather" (open to interpretation) but obviously in a playful and jokingly manner. When my mind occasionally starts gazing off to LaLa land, I find myself at times in this predicament, debating which one of them I should pick. Not necessarily just to, you know, but at times whom I'd pick to be my better half-- What? A guy can't dream? Don't worry, I have some choices for you as well in the end ladies-- or whoever prefers male over female (no judgment here). Better yet, come up with your own choices. And no need to over analyze this, just be game!

1) Anne Hathaway or Emily Blunt?

Of course hands-down Anne Hathaway.  I've always had a crush on her since her Princess Diaries debut film but The Devil Wears Prada really did it for me. Which coincidentally she co-stars with Emily Blunt. But Blunt's was only a supporting role there and she never really caught my attention until that movie with Tom Cruise's Edge of Tomorrow. Blunt is a bit, however, in my opinion, more sophisticated than Anne. Won't you agree?

Winner: Less sophisticated but nevertheless forever crush Hathaway

2) Julia Roberts or Sandra Bullock?

Am I attracted to either one? Not particularly but both had a great number of box-office rom-com hits that makes them a good comparison. And if you haven't read my earlier blogs (to which I again am disappointed), then you should know who I would lean towards to. Let's be clear though that, it's not lopsided as you may think it is because While You Were Sleeping happened.

Winner: Roberts (but only by a pond scum margin)

3) Debbie Gibson or Tiffany?

Aaaah, the late 80s Teen Pop genre! Debbie for sure had more hits and arguably the more popular of the two but Tiffany wasn't that far behind. Here In My Heart [https://youtu.be/WKgnEz7HmuY?si=j0Hi8hI98xRW_PsJ] is probably what made me like Tiffany a bit more than Gibson. Plus seeing a stripper dancing to Lost In Your Eyes [https://youtu.be/8Ms3mJFkSeg?si=Rq9KORGeZsFwobhC] in my first ever strip club visit back in college totally ruined Debbie for me.

Winner: Tiffany

4) Courtney Friel or Lauren Lyster?

Now who the hell are these two? If you don't watch KTLA5 News, then don't even bother. These two newscasters are gorgeous in their own way and share the same airtime on occasions in the afternoon. They are actually intertwined a lot more than you would know since Friel is the ex-wife of Lyster's current husband. How lucky is this dude? Either way you can't go wrong. But if I'm being honest, the winner of this one is...

Winner: Dayna Devon - for me, a level above the two (and yes, she's from KTLA5 as well)

5) Britney Spears or Christina Aguilera?

Debbie-Tiffany 2.0?? Pretty much. With Spears being much more like Gibson and Aguilera like Tiffany. And that alone should tell you which one I have more the hots for. Maybe because Aguilera is a bit edgier for me and that kinda turns me on. It's what a boy wants...

Winner: Aguilera. Too much drama on Spears' side anyway.

6) Meagan Good or Megan Fox?

This is seriously a tough one. Both are extremely sexy and attractive. Good is a bit more conservative compared to bad-girl persona Fox. So do I want a Meagan that's Good or a Megan that's like a Fox? Well Fox hooking up with MGK lost her some points in my scorebook.

Winner: Good - them luscious lips are too hard to resist anyway

7) Erin Andrews or Malika Andrews?

In the sports broadcasting arena, these two Andrews are just mesmerizing as they are professional-- Erin at FOX and Malika at ESPN. A toss up here really but if I have to make a choice, imma go Erin because I know deep inside she is a Packer fan :)

Winner: Erin Andrews

8) Former Co-Worker Tonya or Current Co-Worker Lisa?

I used different names for anonymity (in case they start following my blog and identify themselves here lol) but these are two real characters. Both are brunettes, independent and can be very snotty at times.  Tonya has a seductive smile (and a better attitude actually) while Lisa has that slightly Emily Ratajkowski persona going on for her. I have a crush on both and love the way they both dress.

Winner: Lisa - because she wears tight leggings in the office.

9) Hadid Sisters - Gigi or Bella?

Honestly, I don't see the resemblance. I would not even think they were sisters if I happen to bump into them the first time in the streets. Bella is beautiful and her face is angelic while Gigi to me is just astonishing and she dons that snobbish aura to a tee. But I wouldn't mind watching these two walk the ramp in their VS outfits together though.

Winner: Older Sister Gigi

10) Miranda Kerr or Katy Perry?

All I know is I hate Orlando Bloom for bagging both ladies.

Loser: Orlando Bloom (and yeah I'm bitter)

Your turn. Here are a few suggestions and feel free to add to your roster--

Brad Pitt or Tom Cruise?

Henry Cavill or Chris Evans?

Usher or Ne-Yo?

Trevor Noah or Jimmy Fallon?

Robert De Niro or Al Pacino?

Cristiano Ronaldo or Lionel Messi?

Your Mesmerizing College Professor or your Hunky Office Boss?

Ryan Gosling or Ryan Reynolds?

Your Husband or your Boyfriend? LOL

The gorgeous Dayna Devon of KTLA5 News. See what I mean?

  1. The Male Line Up: 1.) Too easy for me - Brad Pitt! I never found Tom Cruise attractive. 2. ) Chris Evans, but between Iron Man and Capt. America, will go for Iron Man. Umiyak kaya ako sa ending ng End Game😫 3.) Si Usher lang kilala ko so to be fair, will go for Seal 😁 4.) Trevor Noah syempre! Cute lang si Jimmy Fallon but mas sexy ang pagka antipatiko ni Trevor 5.) What the Fockers! of course Robert De Niro 6.) Sorry I dont know Christiano or Lionel....si Leonard del Mundo na lang 7.) I dont have a mesmerizing college prof (may kinamumuhian pa nga daw ako diba) so will go for my Hunky Office Boss Docmal😁 8.) Ryan Reynolds and thats "Definitely Not Maybe" 9.) At dahil magkaaway kami ni hubby now, kay ex-boypren na muna sa ngayon.😡 10.) For the bonus round: George Clooney or Pierce Brosnan.....George Clooney and 11.) Most difficult round... Humphrey Bogart or Cary Grant.....Cary Grant.....pero pagsinabi ni Ingrid Bergman na Humphrey, eh madali akong kausap, switch to Humphrey Bogart😁

Downtown Los Angeles

Article 047. Don't call this a comeback, to quote LL Cool J [ https://youtu.be/vimZj8HW0Kg?si=gAYd5avD9W3RWTeZ ], cause I've always been here. Just occupied the last several months that writing, obviously, took a back seat. But there was something recent that moved me, compelled me to pick up my dormant pen and scribble this out. You would think it's because I got married again (say what?? saving that for another blog) but no, it's for a less personal reason. Four letters-- D.T.L.A. Once was a glory downtown, now it's far from its usual vibe. Filth and uneasiness is the semblance. Homelessness took over the streets and if you haven't been there lately, I challenge you to walk the trails and tell me if you feel safe and easy. I don't know if the city or state is doing anything about it and if they are, they certainly let things get outta hand. If they aren't at all, then what I've witnessed is not really surprising. How did we get this far? Why was it...

"THE" Sunday Night Football

Article 049. Monday, 10/27, 6:30 in the morning, Pacific Standard Time. Still reeling from last night's game between my Green Bay Packers and the Pittsburgh Steelers. My voice still husky, my head a bit hungover, so the smooth drive to gloomy downtown Los Angeles was a slight relief. As I scroll through X on the train ride to Westwood, I just hit the heart button to anything Packers I see on my feed (anything Sydney Sweeney too-- can't help it). That Monday Packer Victory feeling is, as always, sweet, especially because of last night's story line. It was the first time that former GB and now Steelers Quarterback Aaron Rodgers faces off with current GB Quarterback Jordan Love. Teacher versus student, Sunday Night Football, can't get any better than this. We are spoiled in the QB spot having had just three actual starters since 1992(?), namely Brett Favre, Rodgers and now Love. That's why this match is a big deal. The Packer faithful has no animosity against Rodgers...

This Is Your Fight

Article 048.   In light of the the news of insurrection in Indonesia and Nepal as well as all the social events happening across the world about religion, immigration and civil unrest, but primarily due to the recently exposed "ghost" flood-control projects in the Philippines, where the nation is in discord, I write this to the citizens of the Philippines. ================    Dear Filipino Citizens, This is your fight! That is why I’m deviating from the usual narrative of addressing the politicians directly but instead sharing this to you, the common man and woman. Yes you-- who plunges through the flood-ridden streets that’s full of filth and a haven for sickness, to get to your destination and commence your day and do it all over again so you can be welcomed back by the comforts of your measly but well-earned home. Yes you-- the minimum wage employee and the diligent student, who endures the daily commute of public transportation, sharing the intense atmosphere o...
